Welcome Home Veterans Living Military Museum at Richard’s Coffee Shop five year anniversary celebration.  Most often referred to as simply Richard’s Coffee Shop, the facility serves as a refuge and welcoming  center for veterans of all branches of the military and campaigns from World War II to present day conflicts. Officially chartered in 2009, Welcome Home Veterans Living Military Museum at Richard’s Coffee Shop started out in July of that year after the death of Richard Warren, a Vietnam Army veteran who made welcoming home all veterans and thanking them for their service his mission in life. The original location was at 126 S. Main Street in Mooresville. Constant growth quickly necessitated a larger facility and soon the board of directors took the leap of faith in purchasing the current location offering over five times the previous space.  Richard always offered a free cup of coffee to all first time veterans visiting his shop and offered free coffee to all veterans every Thursday of the month. That tradition is alive and well today and it is not uncommon to find over 100 veterans in and around Richard’s on any given Thursday.  Everyone is welcome to attend the five year anniversary celebration and join us in celebrating what has spurred many other like minded coffee gatherings across the state.  Welcome Home Veterans Living Military Museum at Richard’s Coffee Shop is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of veterans dedicated to helping veterans.
