Iredell Health System Offers P.A.D. Awareness Program & Screenings

Are you..... experiencing leg pain that does not go away when you stop exercising? having trouble with foot or toe wounds that will not seem to heal? noticing marked temperature changes in your lower leg or foot compared to the other or the rest of your body? If you answer is yes to any of the above questions, you could be displaying signs of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), which is the most common type of Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD). The most common cause of PAD is atherosclerosis, a hardening and narrowing of the arteries and is most often fournd in the pelvis and legs. Interventional Radiologist, Joseph A. Ciacci, DO, will be the keynote speaker for an informative session that will cover the signs and symptoms of PAD as well as treatment options. Following the presentation, staff will be available for free P.A.D. screenings. Light refreshments will be served.
