What is Shades of Love LKN?

Shades of Love LKN was founded in 2016 in an effort to promote inclusivity within the community regardless of what shade a person may be. The organization has accomplished many community projects helping those in need and was voted the 2017 Best Community Service Organization in Lake Norman!

Throughout the last two years Shades of Love LKN has become an official 501(c)3 non-profit charity organization and has funded and served numerous community projects. Such projects include Feed a Firefighter, where the community came together to feed all the firefighters over the Christmas holiday weekend a full course meal. A local school was adopted and over 450 pair of brand new shoes and socks were given out to those in need. Supply drives for the local Christian Mission, Soup Kitchen, the devastation in Puerto Rico, and many other community foundations. Shades of Love LKN is all about spreading kindness, and teaching our community to be doers, to be the change and start where you are, with what you have. Every single person has the ability to change someone’s life, you just have to dig deep and find it.

The annual event serves as the yearly fundraiser and promotes diversity in the community, celebrates community accomplishments, and recognizes our amazing service men and women who strive to better our community. Each year the event has averaged 300+ participants including families in the area, local law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, elected officials, local small businesses, food, face painting, live entertainment, and more! Money raised from this event is used to help fund the community projects and programs provided to the community from the organization.

This year’s event will provide 400 much needed school supplies, backpacks, personal hygiene kits, and more all to families in need in our area. We would also like to give away some bikes and fun things as well.
