Many older Americans have never had this conversation with their families, nor have they completed their Advance Directives. This 1 hour presentation on Thurs., April 9 from 11 a.m. to noon by Mac Herring, RN, CHPN with Catawba Regional Hospice, will explore the four types of Advance Directive formats used in North Carolina: Living Will, Health Care Power of Attorney, Medical Orders for Scope of Treatment (MOST), and Do Not Resuscitate Orders (DNR). Participants will be able to discuss the various forms and be given a Tool Kit for completing and discussing their wishes with their Loved Ones. April 16th is National Health Care Decision Day, and all Americans are reminded to have this most important conversation with their loved ones annually. Apr 18    Concealed Carry Handgun Class

This is a Full-Day Course: 8 Hours of Classroom Training with 1 Hour of Range Time

Our North Carolina/South Carolina Concealed Carry Class is a must for residents who wish to obtain their Concealed Carry Handgun Permit. This course covers all the legal, safety and handgun proficiency issues required by each state in order to complete your permit application process. It is a mandatory 8 hour class plus range time.

Students must be at least 21 years of age, legal NC or SC resident, familiar with handguns, able to pass a written exam and qualify with their handgun (a .380 caliber handgun or larger) with a 70% or better score.

Students must bring ear and eye protection, notebook and pen, 50 rounds of ammunition, a holster or method of carrying concealed.

Please pack a light lunch that you can consume quickly during a short break.

REASONS FOR TAKING PALADIN'S CCH CLASS:

  • CCH License is the only state certification offered to the residents of North Carolina.
  • CCH License allows you to carry a handgun in you vehicle or on your person in North Carolina as well as 40 other states.
  • Your CCH License can be used to purchase firearms anywhere in NC without additional permits required.
  • The CCH License identifies you as a responsible, law-abiding citizen who has passed local, state and federal background checks.
  • Your certificate recognizes the fact that you understand the laws pertaining to ownership, transportation and use of firearms.
  • Your CCH License establishes the fact that you have passed a written test dealing with the use of force, have passed a proficiency test on the range and have exhibited safe firearms handling techniques.
  • Your CCH License is an important document to have if ever facing a civil trial dealing with firearms.
  • Carrying a handgun is a constitutional right that has been given back to residents of most states in the USA.
  • The number of registered CCH License owners is a political statement to local and state legislators that you demand they respect the Second Amendment and your right to protect yourself.

The Paladin Executive Protection Concealed Carry Handgun class is appropriate for handgun owners over the age of 18. While you can’t apply for the license to carry a concealed handgun until the age of 21, you still need to have the knowledge, training and certification. The certificate you will receive upon completion of this course has no expiration date and is appropriate for anyone who might handle a firearm. To obtain your CCH License, you must present the certificate you receive upon completion of this course to the sheriff's office in your county of residence. The certification of completion of the CCH class is valid in all 100 counties in North Carolina.

Wine club Members must present ID or Wine Club Membership card at ticket gate remember to bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets Big Band is a style of music that originated in the 1930's and 1940's. During that era the popular bands were conducted by such legends as Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and others. Later, came the younger generation of stars like Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson. Big bands kept the country dancing and in recent years, have become very popular for many social events. We go beyond that concept, incorporate many different styles of music from the different eras and give it our own sound. Most unique is our treatment of more modern songs by popular bands and artists including Chicago, Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, Carlos Santana, Norah Jones, Michael Buble and Pat Metheny. We hope to win over a new generation of fans who hear us play music that may be more recognizable.
