DEATH AHOY will take place on November 8, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. aboard the Lady of the Lake. About Town Tours is conducting the Murder Mystery. The murder has already happened, no dead bodies to deal with. Della Freedman is the Detective and there are 5 suspects that are all actors. Handout materials of "official police information" is given to the passengers. The Detective makes an announcement of what has happened. The suspects give testimony. They are sent from table to table to be interrogated. Afterwards, the solution forms are collected to see who solved the Murder Mystery.
Cruise Director Sunny Sails knew a lot about the passengers. When she was found murdered, who could guess what scandals died with her?

| Nov 14 How Prepared Are You? Doing nothing is the Worst Thing to do! |
| Join Ann Vano (Estate Lawyer), Mark Sumner ((Investment Advisor), and Stuart Madow (Senior Community Relations Director with Emeritus at Churchill) to see if your plan is sufficient to withstand issues that come with aging and the end of life. Perhaps because you?re not older, you haven?t even thought about making a plan. In this seminar you will learn why doing nothing is the worst thing you could do. In this seminar you will learn about some of the issues that older adults face and how to put a good plan in place to avoid or better handle these issues as you age. Vano will review topics: Power of Attorney, Living Will, Revocable Trust, and POD or TOD accounts, and the consequences of not having these things in place. She will also discuss why joint bank or investment accounts with your children, and joint names with your children on real estate is a BIG NO NO. Sumner will provide information on various funding options for long term care (Medicaid, VA, and private pay). He will discuss how to best transfer investment accounts, and how to retitle financial accounts to best protect your money. He will also review the impact on taxes if you withdraw the funds from your spouse?s IRA, and how you can protect yourself from Financial Advisors. Madow will give a brief overview of assistive living options. This seminar is specifically planned with the primary purpose of educating the non-senior population on the need to plan for their future as they age, highlighting possible consequences and aging issues that arise when one?s affairs are not in order. The program is open to anyone interested. The seminar will be held on Fri., Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at South Iredell Senior Center. Saint Patrick’s ECW Bites n’ Books Holiday Bazaar will take place on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 am til 2:00 pm. This annual event is a great way to kick off the holiday season. It will feature a chili cook-off with official judges and popular votes. After the competition, homemade soup and chili will be available for sale by the quart. There will also be a Country Kitchen full of fresh baked goods, local arts and crafts including handmade pottery and soaps, and gently used books for sale. | Cooking doesn't have to be a chore, it can be fun! Let's get together and stir up some yummy dishes. Come learn how to plan healthier food choices, simplify cooking methods and minimize the clean-up that takes away some of the fun. Cooking at home is healthier and can be far more economical than eating out or using prepackaged meals. Watch healthy homemade soup being made and enjoy taste samples at the end of the class. For the workshop, fresh, in season produce will be used whenever possible. Feel free to bring recipes and ideas to share. This workshop will be held on Tues., Nov. 18 at 10 a.m., and led by June Summers, a graduate of Culinary School and former manager of restaurants. Alice Formon, local author book launch: From A Hole So Deep. Mooresville Author Alice L. Formon will be autographing her latest release A Hole So Deep” Born into an extremely poor farm family, one of 11 children during the Great Depression, A Hole So Deep is the true story of Alice’s family’s survival, lack of education, domestic abuse and the challenges she overcame to pursue her goals to better herself with education being a top priority. With her sharp wit, keen intelligence and a few good friends who believed in her she was able to form a plan that would take her out of a hole so deep. There were many hurdles to overcome including a cruel and controlling father, hysterical mother and alcoholic husband. From the cotton fields in Oklahoma to a university in New Jersey, after receiving her degree Alice traveled to North Carolina where she acquired her first business. She reared five children and with husband John Marshall lives in Mooresville. Please stop by her booth and say hello to this amazing lady. Alice’s books are also on sale at the chamber office, 149 E.
